Item Description

Save money with a bulk box of OrthoSil brand silicone strips. It helps to protect your lips and gums, keeping you comfortable. OrthoSil lasts longer and is softer and more malleable than traditional dental wax. It is unaffected by enzymes in the mouth and will not crumble. Unscented, unflavored. The containers come in assorted colors, with instructions.

Your brackets must be completely dry for Silicone wax to adhere properly. It can be taken off and re-used after you brush your teeth.

Sold in money-saving bulk boxes of 50 individual containers for $29.99 (that's less than 60 cents per piece!)

Please Note: Ortho-Sil is silicone-based. If you have never used a silicone-based wax product before, we strongly suggest that you try a pack of 10 before buying a bulk box of 50. Dental wax and dental silicone products are not returnable due to health regulations.

  • Each box contains 50 containers of dental silicone.

  • The silicone is opaque and unscented/unflavored.

  • Remember to remove the silicone before you brush your teeth. It can be re-applied after brushing.

  • Non-toxic if swallowed.

  • If you have never used orthodontic silicone before, we strongly suggest that you buy a pack of 10 instead of a box of 50. The box of 50 is not returnable due to health regulations.

Lynn Says

Orthodontic silicone is different from regular dental wax. The brackets of your braces need to be totally dry for the silicone to stick. Honestly, some people simply can't seem to get the hang of using it because they can't get their brackets dry enough to make the silicone stick. But those who do tell us that they love it and prefer it to dental wax. So please understand that it may take a little trial and error at the beginning to get orthodontic silicone to work for you.

Orthodontic silicone has many advantages: it can be re-used, it lasts a lot longer than wax, and it doesn't break down and crumble as easily as wax. Just smoosh some onto the bracket that is causing irritation, and it forms a barrier between your bracket and your gums. The silicone we carry is high quality medical grade, and made right here in the USA.

While nothing is going to make having braces fun, especially at 59 years old, this product does make it less painful. I asked my doctor if it was harmful to wear this silicone wax 24/7 and was told it was perfectly alright. Not hard to apply as long as the silicone and the tooth are dry, and your finger is wet. I find that a small ball of used wax will help take off little bits between your teeth, and behind a wire. Good luck! It'll be worth it when they're off (I hope!)

Great Find!
New braces in my 50's. A few brackets have done a job on my inner jaw. This wax works better for me than the other wax. I also think this box of 50 is a great deal. 18 months to go and this wax will be along for the ride.

Sometimes the silicone pieces have been sliced through and don't come out of the case in one piece. It's irritating!

Really helps with braces
I am an adult with braces and at times it feels like I have barbed wire rubbing against my inner mouth. The Dental wax helps tremendously. It does tend to wear off more quickly than paraffin wax but it is easy to apply.

Great product at an excellent price.
It's a little tricky to use at first, since the surface you attach it to really needs to be dry before application, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. SO much better than wax. I'll never use wax again.

This stuff ROCKS!
I use this nightly for comfort while sleeping. It can be reused, however I try not to due to germs. I have tried the wax and it didn't hold up like this product. Love this stuff!

There's no fabulous solution
I was given some silicone by my orthodontist. I expected this to be the same format as it looked the same. It was much smaller pieces. I have to put 2 together to get the thickness I need. I dry my teeth - apply it but it sticks to my fingers and comes right off! Now, I have learned to put it in place then use my lips and or gums to push it down more. Once this all is accomplished it is wonderful! It lasts at least 12 hours in most situations which includes eating. I found it nearly impossible to re-use. Reg. wax does crumble terrible and there's no re-using it. I do like this but wish there was a better solution. I even tried those plastic covers. They were horrible and didn't work at all. They tell me braces are much more painful for adults. Evidently it is! I was in terrible pain for 2 months after braces were placed. Even now I can't talk very good w/o some silicone on my lower braces.
My conclusion is that Silicone is the best but I don't understand why the braces have to be so sharp w/ points that won't even be used.

A "must have"
An excellent product which can immediately solve the problem of braces brackets and hooks rubbing your mouth raw and sore. Quite easy to apply but make sure to dry the area first .
